Awakening diaries – Spiritual emergencies, anniversaries and cycles

Spiritual emergencies, anniversaries and cycles

Hello dear you who stopped by today to read these reflections about ‘spiritual emergencies, anniversaries and cycles’. I’m specially writing today because I’m celebrating one of those.

Spiritual anniversaries, as I decided to call them, after talking to a very special friend about these important days, are those special dates in which you celebrate or remember an important date or period of your life in which you had a profound spiritual experience which helped you change the course of your life as it was before.

Some people have called these moments in time ‘spiritual emergencies’, and the first ones to coin the term were Stanislav Grof and Christina Grof (1989)  and I really like the term because it is as if life knows that there’s something very urgent –an emergency- to be attended, and life itself finds its perfect ways to get you through the emergency and also make sure its dealt with in the best possible way according to your life path.

We all know that during ‘emergencies’ many things can happen, and most of them are unpredictable.

“[…]profound spiritual experiences are great gifts. They open our mind to new ways of being, new ways of loving, new possibilities.” (Carroll, 2007)

Before the emergency I experienced, I didn’t know I was coming closer to –an emergency period- but life had been giving me hints that something important needed to happen in order to find balance and a new course in my life path. I had been praying for hours and endless days asking God to help me find a solution about various life overwhelming dilemmas, and sometimes desperately felt as if I was left alone ‘in the darkness’. However, I also had those moments of deep certainty that I was being held by God’s infinite love and I knew I just needed to be patient and endure whatever test came my way.

After a long period of feeling this way, the peak of the ‘spiritual emergency’ came and life found its own perfect ways in order to help me resolve all those dilemmas in a way I never expected before.

These very special dates also mark a cycle, a cycle in our collective spiritual evolution, because we are in no way separated from each other. Whatever clarity you get through your own experience, is going to remain as a print in the collective consciousness, so others can swim through it through this precious knowledge that our ‘one consciousness’ learnt through your own ‘individual consciousness’.  Referring to it as ‘individual consciousness’,  is a way to denote this specific print of consciousness which is the observer of your own life experiences, which truly is part of that same collective or ‘one consciousness’. Therefore, whatever clarity you gain, it’ll be transferred to that ‘one consciousness’ and will help us all move towards our collective spiritual evolution.

“The other greatest need of an individual in spiritual crisis is to be heard and understood. So it’s essential that an Alter Ego person has the ability to listen from the heart and keep an open mind. It means no judgement of the data presented, even when it sounds very weird.” (Carroll, 2007)

I have been truly amazed on how much the ‘spiritual emergency’ I was presented with last year, showed me many of the things we’re experiencing at this very moment in time and the deep transformations we’re going through right now as a collective. I could see and intuit how much many of the structures we have taken for granted for so long are going to be crumbled, in order for us to be able to give birth to a New Earth and New Humanity, that has already been gestated for a long time before many of us have been able to experience it or have hints of it.

Whatever clarity you get through your own experience, is going to remain as a print in the collective consciousness, so others can swim through it through this precious knowledge that our ‘one consciousness’ learnt through your own ‘individual consciousness’.

This New Earth and New Humanity life has been manifesting for a long time is going through a big period of deep transformations. It’s like when a woman is pregnant, and has been gestating her child for a long period of time in her womb feeling all sorts of deep transformations in her physical, mental and emotional bodies. Then, the moment of giving birth is approaching. Feelings of anxiety and fear might arise, or of expectation and deep alertness or feelings of uncertainty, and humble acceptance of ‘what is’ too. This is exactly what we’re going through right now. We know that there is ‘something going on’, a big something that is being gestated ‘behind the scenes’ which we know is bigger than us. And because we know it’s bigger than us, the best thing we can do during these times is to surrender to that greater intelligence and know that we will all be taken care of in the best possible way according to our life path.

So there’s really nothing to fear, but accept, that ultimately what happens, is what needed to be since the beginning of times.

We’re all going through a huge spiritual emergency at the moment, and we need to embrace all emotions that come through, as that mum who doesn’t have certainty of what the outcome of her pregnancy is going to be, and goes to the emergency room, or wherever life has decided her to give birth to her baby, and she surrenders to ‘what is’. The less she surrenders, the more painful the experience will be for her and the child.

We all know that during ‘emergencies’ many things can happen, and most of them are unpredictable.

God needs us to surrender during this period, and for us to trust that he’s been taken well care of us at all levels. This doesn’t mean there won’t be losses; this means that whatever losses and whatever gains we face will ultimately be a gain in the spiritual realm from where we all are part of.

“Throughout our life, and especially in times of crisis, feeling unconditionally loved is the fast-track to recovery.” (Carroll, 2007)

It’s especially important for us, during our collective spiritual emergency, to remember that we’re unconditionally loved by God and the universe is holding us with its loving embrace all the time, despite how daunting it might seem for us to be.

We’re all going through a huge spiritual emergency at the moment, and we need to embrace all emotions that come through.

God needs us to surrender during this period, and for us to trust that he’s been taken well care of us at all levels.

I leave you with a beautiful article written by Marlyse Carroll about the importance of spiritual emergencies in our life time, and also these very insightful videos by Dr. Stanislav Grof and Dr. David Lukoff , and artist Wenzl McGowen that can give you more clarity of the importance of ‘spiritual emergencies’ and the wisdom that lays in them.

“[…] this non ordinary states [that] are healing and are transformative and are potentially evolutionary and they also have what we call heuristic value because they can bring absolutely new information about the psyque, about human nature and about the nature of reality” – Stanislav Grof

“Our greatest blessings come to us by way of madness, provided the madness is given us by divine gift”
– Plato

A psych ward is not the place to share mystical revelations about awakening.” – Kara-Leah Grant

I trust the universe and God’s infinite love and divine intelligence will take us through this emergency in the most perfect way.

With deep love and gratitude to you,

Thanks to all those beautiful souls that have accompanied me during these challenging times and to God for having held my hand all along and continue showing me the way with his infinite unconditional love. Love you all with all my heart.
